About Dav

At the ripe old age of 34 I decided to leave the windy shores of Sligo and embark on an adventure to South East Asia, and possibly beyond.

I wanted to set up this blog as a way to share my experiences as well as keep up to speed with some frontend programming. I hope to add a bit of colour and humour to my adventures, and it's also a handy way for those not following me on Insta (shame on you) to see what I'm at (hello Mum and Dad).

For the past 8 years I worked at Shopify, going from a Support Advisor to Software Developer. Over that time, I learned a ton about tech, problem-solving, and how to adapt quickly to new challenges. I also had the opportunity to travel a lot and now I want to keep that up, while continuing to explore the ever-evolving world of software development.

If you're here, you're either curious about my travels, interested in tech, or just trying to keep tabs on me (hi James). Whatever the reason, welcome to Dav's Travels—I hope you enjoy!
