Sun setting over a street in Chiang Mai

Back to Chiangers II

So once again I’ve returned home to Chiang Mai—this time with a bittersweet feeling knowing it’s my final few days in Thailand.

As it happened, a friend from Ballina was in town so twas good fun meeting up with him and his mates. A fair few late nights in a row has left me in a hape though.

Sightseeing

The park is temporarily closed as they get ready for spring and a flower display so there was no slacking to be done. The yoga relocated as well so it wasn’t as convenient.

Therefore I thought it could be a good opportunity to see Chiang Rai. Like Pai, this is also north of Chiang Mai, though in the other direction.

It’s a beautiful place with some of the most amazing temples in all of Thailand.

Some temple or something

Or so I’ve heard… never made it up there in the end! Chiang Rai—along with a ton of other places—has been placed on the “next time” list for when I’m lucky enough to spend another 60 days in Thailand.

So instead of getting the ~3hr bus to Chiang Rai, I opted for the daily 3minute tour from Ban Wiang Guesthouse to Zoe in Yellow instead.

Farewell Pints

Spent the remaining few nights checking out different spots in the Old Town—a couple of restaurants, bars, markets—but always came back to the old reliable. Really have had such a great time up in Chiang Mai and I’m excited to return some day, but now it’s time to return south before venturing on to my second South East Asian country.
