Personal

A month starting on a Monday was always going to be a good one. That being said, it got off to a bit of a rocky start, as myself and Dooli navigated some planes, trains, and automobiles (Uber) to get from Bochum to Eindhoven and then home. So I wasn’t home a month and I was already off travelling again – great craic.

I touched down in Dublin on Tuesday and on Wednesday I was off to Westport for an in-person work event (more on that below).

After a lot of coming and going I finally set back in to Galway life. Joined the gym which has been class, right around the corner so making good use of it. A pretty sober month has helped as well and just generally getting into a good routine.

Took a quick trip back to Sligo to pick up some stuff and head to a rare Rovers Friday game. It was on Culture Night, but I didn’t notice much of a buzz about.

To wrap up the month was even more travels - this time to Tirana and Roma! Two cool capital cities and some nice and needed sunshine. I’ll post about that trip some day.. maybe.. Still have all of Australia to get through!

Professional

The SportsKey Camp in Westport was class. It’s great to have joined such an active and fitness focused company. We did some surfing and climbed Croagh Patrick as well, hadn’t done either in yonks! A few tasty creamers were had and lots of football guessing games. As much as I love remote work, it’s always really enjoyable meeting up and breaking bread, as the fella says.

Back to Galway and got settled in to work, my second month of the trial going well, and positive news about coming on full-time in October.

As for this blog, I’m just about keeping it going with these monthly updates and running posts, but I do have big plans for October and some announcements. Exciting times 🎉
