After Quy Nhon I continued southwards towards Saigon. The trip on the train and sleeper bus looked to be about 12 hours so I thought I’d break it up a bit with a short stop at Nha Trang, another nice seaside city.
Travel by train again
Sleeping
Given that I was only staying the one night, I went for quite a plush hotel – the type of gaff that would be 5 times the price up in Dublin.
Interesting setup
It had a lovely buffet breakfast as well as a rooftop sauna/steam room – always appreciated after a race!
The pool was closed, but the views were nice
Eating
The train got in around 7pm. Once I had my bags dropped and checked in I went for a wander and tried some local cuisine, including some lovely quail egg!
I have to say, this was eggcellent - heh
Strolled back to the gaff by the beach, making a mental note to get up early and run along it.
Good vibe about the place
Running
I managed to wake up in time to get a run in. Really nice place that gives Da Nang vibes.
Got the TimeWarp done before the day got too hot.
Back to the hotel for a shower and down to get my money’s worth of the buffet. Honestly they had a bit of everything – a great feed.
Spent the next while going between sauna and steam room until time to check out.
I then made my way over to the bus station for a direct bus to Ho Chi Minh City, my last stop in Vietnam.
Sleeper bus was more convenient and comfortable than the train
