A bit late to this so I’ll try to keep it short and sweet. From reading a few self-improvement books over the years, I know the goal isn’t reaching the milestones or completing an event itself, it’s more about the journey and development along the way.
That being said, it does help as a box-ticking exercise to set some targets!

Goals
I’ve broken things down into a few broad categories.
Career
An obvious one but I hope to get a new job as a software developer this year. In the meantime I want to continue on this blog and work on a couple of other projects I’ve had in mind for a while.
Travel
Another obvious one but I’ll be continuing the travels, particularly in the first half of the year. Not planning too much and just going with the flow, seeing how I like certain places, and also maximising the sunshine!
Fitness
Going into 2025 I have the Da Nang Marathon lined up and will keep an eye out for other races. It’s hard to train at my peak while travelling, but in the back half of the year I might try go for some PBs in the shorter distances. I want to keep stretching and working towards the backbend as well as callisthenics – make use of the bars dotted around SE Asia.
Self-improvement
I’ve been more conscious with reading/listening to podcasts in the past number of years so look to continue that. I won’t hold myself to any figure this year as I can’t see myself doing a lot, but I am getting through the Thursday Murder Club series, and will hopefully finish the books before the first movie comes out.
Social Media
On the one hand I want to use it less, but on the other, I have lots of skits and dav’s dance demos in the backlog. I’ll keep at that for as long as I keep enjoying it.
Nothing to grandiose this year. Live life and enjoy it! I think I do a good job at that anyway, but this post will help keep myself accountable, and I look forward to reflecting on it at the end of the year.
