Personal
A fun month on the move! With my Vietnam visa running out I had to leave before applying for a new one, so explored some options.
There are organised visa runs where you get a bus to the border and get it done in a day, but I figured it’d be nice to head back to Chiang Mai, where I had a lot of good times earlier in the year.
Decided on heading back to Thailand with the intention of going:
Chiang Mai -> Chiang Rai -> Laos -> Hanoi
Probably should have checked the weather beforehand though, as it was pretty poor. I wasn’t too arsed travelling about and made the decision to stay around Chiang Mai. The eVisa came through pretty quickly so I was able to get a flight direct to Hanoi.
Hanoi exceeded expectations, a really fun time and cool vibe about the place. The Ha Long Half Marathon was delayed by a week, giving me more time to doss about the capital.
Finally, I sent a bunch of postcards, which will hopefully arrive over the coming weeks!
Professional
I’m pretty happy with the design of the blog and it’s working well so far. I’ve a couple of projects on the horizon but this month on the move it was hard to get a solid routine.
At the start of the month I had a productive chat with a career advisor from CareerJoy, and went through a lot of their online employment resources.
May marks a year since being let go, but things are looking up! I had some positive chats about potential roles when I return. Hopefully have more to share on this in my June reflections 🤞
