It’s been a busy few weeks! Between recovering from a wonderful wedding and traipsing around Ireland catching up with people, there wasn’t much room for blogging.
I was glad to spend a few days with the RDF too. “Another day, another dollar”, as the fella says (I wonder what Seamus is up to now?). The extra bitta cash is much needed for the travel funds, so I’m grateful to get it. And I’m more grateful not to get sick after the training!
It was on my way up to the RDF that I encountered the fog at the foot of the mountains, the like I’ve never seen before. I had to pull over and get a pic, twas surreal.
After that, I was ready to shake off the metaphorical fog clouding my mind and get on with my travel plans..
Thailand
I knew I wanted to explore South East Asia but wasn’t sure where to start. After scouring countless travel blogs and consulting my frenemy ChatGPT, I eventually landed on Thailand. I had a look for flights on Skyscanner and found a one-way ticket at an okay price with Turkish Airlines. Booked for the 28th of November so will sadly miss the General Election, but will hopefully catch some of the coverage. I found a budget-friendly hostel near all the action—and, most importantly, close to an Irish pub which is apparently the Liverpool Supporters Club bar. Perfect timing too, as they’ll be playing City the weekend I arrive.
Once the flights were sorted the rest kind of fell into place. I managed to arrange travel vaccines, insurance, and even got myself a new backpack (more on these in a future post). With all the essentials covered, the only thing left was to plan my going-away party! 🎉
