Today is exactly 8 months until the Berlin Marathon, and as part of my training for it, I thought I would do a monthly challenge. This will help show me where I’m at with the training, and also hopefully drum up a bit of interest for the charity.
For January, I figured I’d ease myself in with a shorter distance, and take another shot at a challenge I’ve done before: The Scotsman’s Run!
The Challenge
This is a 400m straight line dash along Scotsman’s Walk, a road I know well from growing up in Cartron.

400m straight line dash
At the start of the month I rejoined Galway City Harriers and we’ve had a 400m track session, so I’m feeling good about it.
Aiming to beat the 1:10 I ran when I first did this 15 months ago. That day I had my phone in my hand recording the run like an eejit (video below), so wasn’t as in the zone. This Saturday (31st of January) I should be more focused.
My running goal for this distance is sub 1 minute, so I’m keen to see how I get on!
